Letter From the Pastor

Below is a letter that is being sent out in the mail.  You should also be receiving an phone alert if you are on the system.  Please feel free to fwd this email to others that are apart of Boones Creek Baptist Church.  I will be going live on FB tonight at 6:30pm.  Hope to see you there.

Dear Boones Creek Church Family,

I want take a moment of your time and address the situation
that we find ourselves in.  As I write this letter I can hardly believe at the events that are taking place around us concerning COVID-19.  I pray that we as a church would remain confident, steadfast, full of faith and love for God and one another.

I met with our deacon leadership on Tuesday March 17th.  As a team we decided that all church worship activity and Sunday School be cancelled until April 5th.  This means that we will not have Sunday Worship on March 22nd nor March 29th.  Also, Wednesday night group activity and prayer meeting has been cancelled until April 5th.  It is my hope that we are able to get back on a schedule by April 5th, but that is only tentative and we will let you know if that is going to be realized.  This decision was made together as a body and done out of a spirit of protection for the flock.  Honestly writing this is hard to do because I will miss the face to face interaction with you we have weekly.  However, I am hopeful that we are going to pull through this together, and see the Lord provide like He always does.

I do want to provide some sermons and Bible study for you though during this time.  I will be on my Facebook and our website, www.boonescreek.org, with a sermon LIVE each Sunday at 11am and on Wednesday at 6:30pm.  If you do not have the internet and would like a DVD sent to your home, then please call the church office at 423.282.1371.

The church office will remain open Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9am-3pm.  I want to encourage you to remain faithful in giving during this time.  You can drop your giving off during these hours, or mail in a gift as well.  It is my hope we can have an online giving platform up on our website soon for your convenience.  Ministry is still taking place during this time with various needs in the community.  So, the church is not shutting down, but rather doing ministry differently.  Therefore, it is imperative we ask you to continue to support the ministry and keep the gospel message going from Boones Creek Baptist Church.

If you have a prayer need, spiritual need or physical need I encourage you to feel free to call, message, or email the church with that need.  I do not want us to feel isolated during this time but know that as a family we can know the presence of the body of Christ.

I would ask you to be continually praying for one another and the community around you.  Take time to call or message one another during this time to encourage one another.  If there is a need then bear it together.  Remember what the apostle Paul said in Galatians 6:2 – “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.”  I am confident that together we are stronger and nothing can separate us from the Love of Christ, Rom 8:37-39.

Website Theme Replacement

You may have noticed that the website looks different from the way it did when it was originally launched a couple of weeks ago. There was a bug in the CSS I was unable to fix that was causing the website to not work correctly on older versions of Internet Explorer. So, instead of trying to rewrite a new theme, I chose a theme that looked a little more appealing and was easy to modify. Just in case anyone was wondering why the sudden change 🙂 Please feel free to post comments.
